After the attacking phase, can u only move armies to an adjacent army u control, or can u move it to a country far away but is still connected? For example, lets say u control all of australia, siam and india. Can u move armies from western australia to india?

This depends on preagreed rules. I personally like to be able to move armies across interconnected territories. It makes the game much more strategic and flexible. It will also accelerate gameplay which in a 5-hour game is a bonus.
However, make sure that everyone understands the implications before the start of the game so people can pln accordingly. |

It depends on the rules your playing by. I like the rule where you can only move to adjacent territories, as it involves more skill, and realistic-ness. |
